One of the largest democracies in the world, India celebrates its 74th Independence Day on 15th August, 2020. It was the day when India was declared independent from British colonialism who ruled for more than 200years .It reminds every Indian, the dawn of a new beginning and the glorious achievements and sacrifices of many freedom fighters which fills every heart with great pride. Since then, People of all races and religions have worked collectively for the harmony and prosperity of the nation showcasing “Unity in diversity” and celebrates the anniversary of its independence every year. What happens on Indian Independence Day?
- In India, Independence Day is marked with a whirlwind of celebrations with Prime Minister of India hoisting the Tricolor National Flag at Delhi’s Red Fort and addressing the nation.
- He receives a general salute from the guard of honor, consisting of representatives from the all three wings of the Indian armed forces (Army, Navy and Air force) and the Delhi police, followed by a military parade.
- After that the national festivity is synchronized with 21 honorary gunshots in-line with moving rendition of the India’s national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’.
